Exploring the Frame Tool in Photoshop

7/5/20

‍    Photoshop came out with a new tool, last year, I think, called the frame tool. This tool lets you draw an empty placeholder shape, and when you drop a photo on it, it fits in the shape you drew. The tool itself makes rectangles and ellipses, but you can create any shape you please and turn it into a frame. This image was the first time I had taken the time to use the frame tool. I see that I need to explore more.

‍    At any rate, when you drag and drop a photo onto a frame, it automatically turns into a smart object so you can resize with losing quality. You can move the photo around in the frame to crop it differently. In other words, it’s really simple, quick  way to mask.

‍    Take care and stay well. Wear masks to protect others
